My name is Derrick Chalfant and I was born in Columbus, Ohio May 1st, 1979. My family lived in Houston, Texas for a short time before moving to the mountains of North Carolina in 1985. I grew up playing baseball in the small town of Drexel, NC, and for 3 years at East Burke High School until I graduated class of '97. Afterward I studied at Western Piedmont Community College for 2 years before moving back to Columbus, Ohio to live with extended family and  learn the plumbing trade. At the age of 25 I moved to the Texas/Mexico border to serve as a missionary with United in Christ Ministry for about 5 years. Then when I was 30 I moved back to Hickory, North Carolina where I would soon meet my wife Sarah from Valdese, NC. We have been married for 3 years and are now proud of the newest addition to the Chalfant family, our first girl Levi Marie. 

         I recently completed the Bachelor's degree program in Biblical Studies through Bridges Christian College in January of 2018.
